STOCKHOLM, Sweden — A new Icona Pop era is upon us as the multi-platinum, award-winning duo officially shares details of their upcoming fourth studio album “Ritual”, making its highly-anticipated return this year via Ultra Records/Iconic Sound Recordings.

Written during a transformative chapter in the duo’s lives that could have easily seen the beloved duo split, “Ritual” marks as Icona Pop‘s sonic exploration at their most honest, liberated, and emotionally fearless—shaped by friendship, reinvention, motherhood, heartbreak, healing, and joy.

Across the record, dropping August 14, the longtime creative partners turn the dancefloor into a space for release and renewal. On this, “Ritual” makes for a sound of two women at the height of their creative confidence, reclaiming their artistry—and inviting everyone to the dancefloor with them.

Speaking on the upcoming music drop, Icona Pop shares, “Healing requires you to slow down and reflect, but you can’t work on yourself 24/7 forever. Eventually, you have to get back out into the world and see what happens. You might mess up—but that could be exactly what you need. For us, the dance floor has always been a place where we find ourselves and each other again. It’s where we can disappear into the music and let go of everything else.”

Alongside the announcement, the duo delivers an infectious new single, “Dance To This,” with an official music video directed by Gustav Stegfors.

Co-written by the duo themselves, and produced by Sebastian Furrer, the track channels the raw energy from the beginning of their career, matched with a sharp-edged modern pulse. Fueled by swaggering verses, chant-ready hooks, thundering beats, and dancefloor abandon, the track captures the feeling of losing yourself in the night and finding yourself again in the music.

With lines like “Kinda wanna burn a bridge / Kinda wanna be a bitch / Kinda wanna take a risk / Kinda wanna dance to this,” the song bottles chaos, confidence, and a catharsis into three minutes of pure Icona Pop electricity.

Speaking about the track, Aino Jawo, one half of the now-iconic pop powerhouse, reveals, The production definitely reminds me of old Icona Pop. We could perform it live, but we could also put it in a DJ set.” Caroline adds, “It’s one of those nights when you’re finding yourself by going out… it’s the moment you see yourself dancing and connected to your essence.”

Dance To This” follows the release of the album’s powerful title track “Ritual” featuring Daya, alongside an official music video directed by Gustav Stegfors. Built around themes of survival, movement, and self-reclamation, the song introduced a more vulnerable and emotionally grounded side of the duo.
