MANILA, Philippines — In a recent move aimed at expanding their portfolio, home of designer eyewear brands, Vision Express is going local with indie eyewear brand a.kin.
Most known for their playful yet refined tinted sunglasses, a.kin launches in Vision Express with a collection of sunglasses, along with its first optical line exclusively available at the country’s premium optical retailer.
Vision Express President Neelam Gopwani shares, “While we position ourselves as the one-stop store for curated international designer brands, Vision Express acknowledges and takes pride in the vibrant local fashion scene. We want more Filipinos to explore local brands that can compete with global players in terms of quality and design, and a.kin exhibits that in a way that’s uniquely theirs.”

a.kin, as a brand, has since represented a design language that sits between aesthetics and functionality. Their community recognizes how they put intentionality in modern, well-made pieces that blend easily into anyone’s everyday wardrobe.
With their new venture in optical eyewear, the brand continues to build on the same sense of clarity and connection.

The new a.kin sunglasses and frames collection zoom in at the familiar, reframed. Classic silhouettes are softened and slightly shifted, with details that come through over time.
The palette stays grounded in smoke, olive, sand, and muted transparencies, paired with layered acetates and considered hardware. Shapes are understated, balanced, and easy to wear. The result is a collection that feels natural, personal, and expressive. Pieces that do not demand attention, but naturally complement daily life.
