MANILA, Philippines For their Season 45 Junior Theatre Literacy Program, Artistang Artlets of the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Arts and Letters brings OKATOKAT”, a chilling, romantic tragic-comedy that seeks to confront and answer questions on life’s ghosts.

Written by Rio Arguelles and directed by J-Rhic Noviza Tanghal, the one-act play centers on a young woman, Dina, who is faced by ghosts of the past, with the help of her plucky landlord Madam Lulu.

“This will be the first ever arena staging of a theater play in the University of Santo Tomas after a long long time,” shares Tanghal in a press statement.

In a time when accessible staging spaces within the University have become limited, “OKATOKAT”,  will be utilizing a blackbox arena staging, an approach that is both a creative and symbolic. The intimate setting of the staging where the audiences surround the performers, gives a raw glimpse of the haunting story turning their constraints to innovation.
