MANILA, Philippines—This year, top-tier dance crew, UPeepz, is returning to the world stage with five winning teams from the recent Philippine Hip Hop Dance Championships.

Aimed at putting the Filipino dance genius on the global map once again, UPeepz sets out to represent the country at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships from August 3-10, 2024, in Arizona, USA.

To prepare for the competition, the dance crew is gearing up to find support by organizing a string of fundraising events and activities throughout June and July. With 80 members and 10 coaches needing to fly to Arizona, the support of the community will make this journey possible.

Besides the World Hiphop Dance Championships, UPeepz is also the first and only Filipino team to bring two teams to the 2019 and 2020 NBC World of Dance in Hollywood, which aired in American television, with celebrity judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, and Derek Hough.

UPeepz has also been recognized with national senators solutions and the NCAA Ani Ng Dangal Awardee for Dance (MNL) in 2016, 2017 & 2018.

UPeepz has expanded its talent and houses other sub-teams catered to various divisions for international competitions such as: The Peepz (Adult Division), VPeepz (Varsity Division), and LilPeepz (Junior Division).

LilPeepz also paved the way for Filipino junior teams to compete at a highly competitive level internationally when they first joined and made it to the finals of the World Stage.

To set things rolling, one major fundraising event is “Peep Show Vol. 2,” a legacy project by the late team member Heart Uy. Each ticket sold for this event helps support the team’s travel and logistical expenses for the World Hip Hop Dance Championships. Beyond fundraising, Peep Show Vol. 2 celebrates the creativity and diversity of the Philippine dance community.

This year’s showcase features performances by renowned artists and teams from the Philippine dance community.
