Following ‘SMITHEREENS’ Album Release, Joji Preps for Upcoming Tour

GLOBAL NEWS—After the recent release of chart-topping artist Joji’s third studio album “SMITHEREENS” via longtime label 88rising and immensely successful SMITHEREENS Tour selling 120,000 tickets, the artist announces two headlining arena dates at Madison Square Garden in New York and The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the largest venues he’s played to date in the US, May 6th and 13th. He also announces a headline show at the iconic Gunnersbury Park in London on August 17th.

Fan registration for both shows began last November 4th. Artist pre-sale also began November 9th and ended on November 10th. General On-Sale for all shows began on November 11th. You can access tour dates and tickets via this link.

Since Nectar in 2020, SMITHEREENS is Joji’s first full-length album. He delivers his distinctively melancholy yet powerful vocals on songs like “Die For You,” a somber, morning-after reminiscence of a past relationship. The song is accompanied by a visual directed by creative studio Actual Objects compiled entirely from stock footage. View it here..

SIDE A of the album heralds a mature sonic direction for Joji through wistful and contemplative ballads accompanied by lush production that blooms within each song. SIDE B, largely produced by Joji himself, digs deeper into the lo-fi and off-kilter sounds that hark back to his experimental beginnings as an artist.

The album’s debut single, “Glimpse of Us,” has reached the #9 spot on Mediabase’s Top 40 chart as his first-ever top 40 radio record since its June release. The song has received RIAA platinum certification in the United States, Australia, and Canada, and has received over 784 million global streams to date. It is also Joji’s highest-ever Billboard Top 100 chart position, peaking at #8. It also made significant debuts on Billboard’s Top Streaming Songs and Global 200 charts, and it spent over a month in the top three on Spotify’s Global and US charts.

“Glimpse of Us” is nominated for “Song of the Year” at the 2022 ARIA Awards, and its Dan Streit-directed video won “Best Editing” at the UK Music Video Awards. The following single from the album, “YUKON (INTERLUDE),” received similar success and accolades for its psychedelic and mind-bending music video directed by the visionary duo and longtime collaborators BRTHR.
