GLOBAL NEWS—Prepare your comfiest seat and popcorn, nerds! We are set to go on an otherworldly binge-watch fest as season 4 of Stranger Things now has a release date. With this announcement, though, comes details of its upcoming end, which makes it a bittersweet music to our ears.

Stranger Things recently shared an open letter from the series creators—Matt and Ross, more popularly referred to as Duffer Brothers, about the upcoming release of season 4 and due to its ‘unprecedented length’ the production decided to split it up into two volumes.

In the letter, the creators described how big season 4 would be, “With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Strange Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one.”

The creators also announced the series’ nearing end, with its fifth and final season coming. Stranger Things have gained a lot of fans since its first release seven years ago, popularly known for its out-of-this-world visual effects and an incredible band of child actors giving life to the characters from Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp, among others.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 is scheduled for release on May 27 and Volume 2 is set to release on July 1.
