MANILA, Philippines—Warner Bros. Philippines made an esteemed revelation today, unveiling Filipina voice talent and accomplished content creator, Inka Magnaye, as the designated voice behind the Scarab in the highly anticipated Philippine release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ forthcoming action-adventure masterpiece, Blue Beetle.
Within the film’s captivating narrative, “the Scarab”, referred to as Khaji-Da, assumes a pivotal role as an ancient alien artifact crucial to the unfolding saga of the titular DC Super Hero. Under Magnaye’s vocal guidance, the Scarab emerges as a guiding force for Jaime Reyes, masterfully portrayed by the breakout star of “Cobra Kai,” Xolo Maridueña. Together, they embark on a profound odyssey of self-discovery, as the Scarab imparts knowledge and facilitates the harnessing of Jaime’s seemingly boundless and extraordinary powers, propelling him towards his transformation into the revered Super Hero, Blue Beetle.
Notably, in the original rendition, the Scarab’s voice was skillfully brought to life by the talented singer and actress, Becky G, adding further allure to this cinematic gem.
Renowned for her regal stature within the niche voicework industry in the Philippines, the exceptional Filipino talent, Magnaye, graces the character of the Scarab with her own distinctive allure. Notably, some of the character’s lines have been thoughtfully rendered in Tagalog, a delightful treat that Filipino fans should eagerly anticipate.
