MANILA, Philippines — The rainy season is upon us but for Grab, summer is far from over especially with a recent engagement with the superapp’s users made even more special with the participation of former Pinoy Big Brother housemates Josh Ford and Ashley Ortega. Hot off their recent loved appearances on the television and online series, for the two, the real adventure is just beginning — and it’s nothing short of kakaiba.

The two reality show graduates stepped out of what is dubbed as the most famous house in Filipino pop culture and straight into the real world to bring Grab’s Iba Ang Summer experience to its culmination at Glorietta Activity Center 2.

With the on-ground activation designed for those on the lookout for kakaibang experiences, the event reimagined local adventure and food discovery highlighting spontaneous community finds and hidden culinary gems, made even more accessible on the leading superapp.

Ford and Ortega, following weeks spent in isolation inside the iconic house with other celebrity housemates, are diving headfirst into all things summer through a KAKAIBANG TASK composed of Grab-powered activities in the activation area, which was made available to the public until June 1.

Championed since its release on the app at the start of the turn of the season, the duo thn tried their hands at a breadth of activities like pottery-painting, tackled quirky mini golf challenges, and even a match-up game. These are activities inspired by actual stops on the GrabCar Travel Guide, the app’s list of under-the-radar activities around the country.

“I’m so happy to know na meron ng GrabCar Travel Guide kasi ako, I’m a bit of a daredevil,” Ford quipped. “I’m a bit of an adventure guy kaya mahilig talaga ako sa mga adventures.”

The pair then didn’t just explore new experiences — they also uncovered less-known gastronomic faves, celebrating dishes from The Kind Cookie, Mylene’s Ensaymada, and Sushi Nori, all handpicked from GrabFood 5-Star Eats, which, since rollout, is a curated collection of top-rated community-based restaurants beloved for their service quality and iconic offerings.

“Now with the 5 Star Eats, alam mo yung feeling mo na sometimes you don’t know what to eat, I think with that feature makikita mo yung mga top rated restaurants, it’s already there and you have a lot of options. I think it will be easier for me and especially sa mga midnight cravings ko,” Ortega added.

Grab’s summer campaign taps into something deeply relatable —for those who feel like they blinked and missed half the season. With GrabCar Travel Guide as their compass in exploring fresh experiences, and GrabFood 5-Star Eats as their guide in trying community-approved flavors, the two showed discerning users of the app just how to catch up on summer — one hidden gem at a time.
