MANILA, Philippines—In its inaugural showcase, emerging fashion culture and young visionaries-in-the-making get the spotlight in Style Conquest 2024.

Green Sun Hotel in Makati City housed collections from a mix of emerging independent artists and promising new designers, complemented by appearances by popular P-pop groups and a roster of young artists in a mission to make the design show a launchpad for rising Filipino fashion talent.

P-Pop artists like G22, VXON, AJAA, and YES MY LOVE (YML) walked the runway alongside VIVA Artist Rabin Angeles. Deservedly so, the true stars of the night were the collections from designers like Paul Matt, Edrick Paz, and JM Rosario, to rising stars like Camille Besacruz and Emanuel Riñoza. Fashion artists Kein Dumlao, Nash August, and Basil Malicsi rounded out the lineup.

Six iAcademy Fashion Design graduates also made their runway debut, each with a distinct worldview as artists in their respective collections.  Joanna Santos displayed contemporary, avant-garde couture, while Jannah Collado used grunge to explore personal experiences.  Abby Fernandez offered a sustainable streetwear collection with Japanese influences, and Ellyn Denubo pushed boundaries with unconventional cuts and materials. Megan Davies‘ designs blended modern aesthetic with timeless elegance, and Elene Mariano celebrated cultural heritage with a contemporary twist.

The two-act show championed inclusivity and new-world vision, kicking off in the afternoon with a diverse range of collections. The evening show then shone the spotlight on the iAcademy graduates’ collections, with P-Pop groups and Rabin Angeles adding extra energy.

Style Conquest 2024 was a testament to the creativity and innovation of both the iAcademy graduating fashion designers and the broader fashion community.
