MANILA, Philippines—The brand-new, outlandish OPM boy band KINDRED debuts “SAY I LOVE, a take on classic R&B music. Packaged in contemporary pop form, the band redefines what it means to listen to traditional genres, elevating it into a completely new sensory experience while compromising its essence.

“We all just wanted a love song that sounded hella sweet, honestly. We all had a love for R&B as well, and it’s pretty present in most of our tracks. It’s also an homage to a lot of 90s R&B groups with the likes of Boyz2Men, Immature, and Kut Klose, pretty much reimagining it with our sound.”

The track begins with smooth melodies accompanied by instruments, all blending well to create a soft tune you can dance slowly to, like a heartfelt serenade. The pacing picks up a bit as it progresses, encapsulating the track’s pop identity. Experimenting with real guitars to make beats truly paid off, paired with added flair from a sustained riff.

The musical arrangement comes with masterful lyrics about a gentleman’s point of view on romance and relationships.

Through the lyrical narrative, KINDRED figures out how to collectively bring romance back to life and yet somehow speak individually to their special someone. It expresses a different-from-the-usual vibes, dubbed to be as a personification of their “lover-boy selves.”

The single is also an “echo to a lover’s heart,” as every beat of the song exudes meaningful moments that leave you swooning and sighing. For listeners, it’s meant to make them feel “…a love that’s always been there that’s just waiting to be revisited.”

Though “SAY I LOVE” and “Switch On U!” are just the beginning of their journey, this boy band has more to offer.

“We’re excited to throw our next curveball and share with everyone what we’ve lovingly been working on for the past few months.”
