MANILA, Philippines—Pop sensation Cody Jon has exciting news to share as he announces his upcoming EP, ‘DEATH WOBBLES,’ set to release on November 3 through Saint Lucky Records. Alongside this announcement, Cody Jon treats fans to his latest single, the infectious “SHOOT!”
“SHOOT!” explores the allure and enigmatic nature of captivating individuals, drawing inspiration from 2000s icons like Brandy, Pharrell, and Craig David. With a stripped-back production emphasizing guitars, drums, strings, and harmonies, the track weaves storytelling with conversational dialogue, reminiscent of classics like Nelly Furtado’s “Promiscuous” or Justin Timberlake’s “Señorita.” Cody Jon collaborated with his friend Jondren during a unique session in LA to create the song, resulting in a memorable track that captures the essence of strings and storytelling.

The track comes complete with a 2000s dance film-inspired music video directed by Jamieson Kerr and Rob James McLean. Cody Jon shares his vision, explaining, “I wanted to use the track title and recontextualize it. I thought of a ‘video shoot’ and had the idea to create a meta video within a video concept that mirrors the song’s storyline. In the video, a dance group is featured, and everyone is enamored with one particular person. The audience is left to decipher the intentions of this crush. To prepare for this, I drew inspiration from classic dance films like ‘Step Up,’ ‘Bring It On,’ ‘Honey,’ and others. I collaborated with Jamieson Kerr and Rob James McLean to bring this concept to life, and I was fortunate to have my talented dancer friends join me in the video. It was a special experience to work with so many people on set, especially my friends.”
