ARIZONA, USA The Philippines remains victorious on the global dance stage with three medals clinched at the recent World Hip Hop Dance Championship held last July 26 to August 2 on Phoenix, Arizona. With different dance crews from over 55 countries united through the most renowned hip hop dance competition globally, the Philippines secured wins from its pride delegates: Legit Status and VPeepz.

Bagging the gold medal for the Megacrew Division is Legit Status, a prominent dance crew who has been a Hip Hop Internationals mainstay since 2009. The beginning of their journey was set in the Varsity Division until the team started to compete in the Megacrew Division, winning gold in 2023 and bronze in 2019 and 2017. Aside from the Megacrew Division, Legit Status also took the bronze in this year’s Junior Varsity Megacrew Division.

Meanwhile, VPeepz won the bronze medal for the Varsity division. A sub-team of widely-recognized UPeepz, this marks the dance crew’s first ever placement under the division since its founding in 2017. Philippines previously held the division’s winning throne after last year’s delegate A-Kidz took home the gold medal in 2024.

Founded in 2002 by Hip Hop International, the World Hip Hop Dance Championships became a global platform for dance crews around the world to showcase remarkable choreography, talent, and pure grit and conviction. Additionally, the world-class competition allows past winners to work and collaborate with renowned pop artists and performers. Other national delegates who also competed this year are 4DK for the Megacrew Division; TPZ and UNRVLD for the Minicrew Division; Lil Peepz, Sayawatha Jr., and A-Kidz for the Junior Division; and VPZ for the Varsity Division. VPeepz’s JV Megacrew also won 4th while 4DK stands at 5th place in the Megacrew Division.

Within the competition’s 23-year inception, the Philippines currently stands at a total of 30 medals, regarded as fifth in most wins by a country, with 11 gold, 5 silver, and 14 bronze placements.
