MANILA, Philippines — Hot on the heels of his recent success from the Metro Manila Film Festival multi-awarded entry Green Bones, decorated actor Dennis Trillo tests his mettle as a romantic-comedy actor, this time reuniting with real-life partner and equally critically-acclaimed actress Jennylyn Mercado in Everything About My Wife.

This marks as the first film pairing between the couple in the said genre taking their onscreen chemistry to greater heights in GMA Pictures and CreaZion Studios film vehicle, right off the former’s awards and commercial success and the latter exiting MMFF 50 with runaway critical success for its well-lauded screen adaptation of musical Isang Himala.

With filmmaker Real S. Florido (1st Ko Si 3rd & Will You Be My Ex) at the helm, Everything About My Wife charts the ebbs and flows of married life between Dom (Trillo) and Imo (Mercado), whose romance takes a dip seven years into their relationship. Things take a complicated turn when Dom takes desperate measures to free himself from the marriage, even going through lengths as to enlisting the help of notorious womanizer Miguel (played by Sam Milby) in a tangled web of deceit and inexplicable manipulation. As is expected, the scheme gets revealed and their lives get even more disgruntled.

Everything About My Wife is the local adaptation of an Argentinian film that dates back to 2008 named Un Novio Para Mi Mujer (A Boyfriend for My Wife), before the material found itself resuscitated in adaptations in South Korea way back 2012 with All About My Wife starred by the late Lee Sun-kyun, Im Soo-jung, and Ryu Seung-ryung of Miracle in Cell No. 7 fame. It has also seen respective iterations in different countries as Italy, India, Spain, among others.

Mercado and Trillo gets reunited on the screen with Everything About My Wife long after their recent undertakings like the “Truly. Madly. Deadly.” episodes of the 2020 anthology series I Can See You. It can be remembered that the two well-loved GMA Network acting powerhouses have appeared on the big screen in dramatic films like Albert Martinez’ Rosario in 2010 and Joel Lamangan’s Blue Moon in 2005, where the two appeared in roles in different timelines. This also serves as a reunion project between Milby and Mercado whose last rom-com fare was seen on the big screen in the Jun Lana film The Prenup.

Joining GMA Pictures and CreaZion Studios in this collaboration is Glimmer Studio. Everything About My Wife is set to be released in cinemas on February 26, 2025.
