MANILA, Philippines — Fresh off its recent cinema release, Everything About My Wife, directed by Real Florido and written by Rona Co, brings a powerhouse collaboration between CreaZion Studios, and GMA Pictures. This collaboration brings a beloved romantic comedy adapted from a source material that has first found various iterations in different languages and countries worldwide from Italy, Mexico, India, Chile, Vietnam, South Korea, and Spain.

The film has seen commercial & critical successes in most of its previous versions, notably its source material, the 2008 Argentine origin (Un novio para mi mujer), a box office hit, and its 2012 South Korean adaptation (All About My Wife), which became one of the highest-grossing Korean films of the year. This story delivers a relatable and universal theme of love and healing—a narrative that resonates across cultures. While each adaptation stays true to the heart of the story, what sets them apart is how the protagonists resolve their conflicts.

“The magic of Everything About My Wife is the universality of its theme and how love and commitment is discussed in all of its iterations. And that story resonates so much in a lot of countries in the world as much as it is in our own. When we talk about commitment and marriage, we know we are touching deeply on an aspect of our identity as people who put so much importance on these subject matters as part of our culture,” shares Florido.

Just as CreaZion Studios’ CEO, RJ San Agustin, backed quality stories like Isang Himala, in its 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival run, co-produced with Unitel Straight Shooters, the production company remains deeply rooted in this commitment. “It has always been our mission to find stories that enrich the audiences’ worldview and inspire our viewers.”

Hot off its cinema release, moviegoers have shared notes on the film, particularly the magnitude of having its leads working together from real-life couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo, along with Sam Milby also returning to his rom-com roots. Online, viewers have readily joined in on the conversation to show interest on seeing this Filipino adaptation.

Running on a logline that asks, “Pag ang better naging worse, can love heal everything?” Everything About My Wife seeks to revisit the discussion on the many complexities of love and married life.
