MANILA, Philippines—In its continuing goal of showing love and saying thank you to its Filipino consumer base, global apparel retailer UNIQLO welcomes the much-awaited re-opening of its first-ever store in the Philippines, at the SM Mall of Asia.

Following a two-year closure to undergo major updates, UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia, which launched in 2012 as the brand’s first store in the Philippines, has officially opened its doors once again with a redefined experience.

Following extensive renovations and expansion, the redefined store offered a new experience for customers, with a week-long celebration where opening-day festivities, invited customers to attend the store’s official opening.

Boasting a sales floor of around 3,000 square meters across two floors, the store is the second in the Philippines to house both the UTMe! custom print service and UNIQLO Coffee café, as well as featuring the complete lineup of UNIQLO’s simple, high-quality LifeWear collection. 

Novelty items and freebies galore

Customers are invited to join in the re-opening celebrations for UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia, with multiple fun and surprising gifts. A free, limited-edition UNIQLO Stainless Cup were gifted to customers shopping at UNIQLO Mall of Asia who make a minimum purchase of PHP 3,500. The UNIQLO Stainless Cup then came in 5 stylish colors and is easily customizable with a limited edition UTme! sticker.

Every time customers shop during the store’s opening week, they will also receive a free UNIQLO hand fan designed by local artist Lloyd Zapanta.

Early customers were also in for a sweet treat, with free, limited-edition chocolate bars made in collaboration with premium tree-to-bar chocolate brand Auro. These special chocolate bars will be offered in two Japan-inspired flavors: Wasabi and Black Sesame, providing new and enjoyable experiences for customers to enjoy.

A special UNIQLO celebration calls for special prices. During UNIQLO Mall of Asia’s reopening week customers enjoyed special prices on UNIQLO LifeWear favorites and wardrobe essentials.

UNIQLO Coffee and UTme!

The UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia store is the newest UNIQLO in the Philippines to feature both the UTme! custom print service and UNIQLO Coffee café. 

UTme! is a service through which customers can create their own graphic t-shirts with custom stickers and their own photos or artwork. At the redefined UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia, the extensive UTme! designs on offer will be further augmented by new artwork that is exclusive to UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia. 

Custom designs for the UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia store have been created in collaboration with local artists and brands that have redefined the landscape within their respective fields. Exclusive designs for UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia include artwork from Filipino artists Lloyd Zapanta, Aaron Amar, and Studio Dialogo, as well as designs created in partnership with fan-favorite local brands Auro and Mana. 

Another exciting addition to the UTme! design collection is Disney Mickey Go Philippines, the first of its kind, launching exclusively in UNIQLO SM Mall of Asia. 

Featuring Mickey Mouse wearing Barong Tagalog and Mickey & Friends hanging out in front of a Jeepney, among others, the designs offer a creative take on Mickey & Friends, bringing beloved Disney characters together with uniquely local aspects of Filipino culture. Customers can dive into the vibrant designs inspired by iconic Filipino symbols and phrases from street culture in Manila and other destinations in the Philippines, classic Filipino dishes, Pinoy pop culture, and more references to Pinoy heritage and culture.

Elsewhere in the store, customers will be able to enjoy a break with the UNIQLO Coffee café, which features a store-exclusive menu offering café classics such as Americano and Café Latte coffees, as well as refreshing beverages including Passion Fruit Tea and White Peach Fruit Tea. Customers can also enjoy a snack with their drink, with UNIQLO Coffee offering a selection of treats that includes New York Cheesecake, Matcha Cheescake, and Cereal Cookie, as well as an assortment of gelatos such as Cereal Milk, Hojicha, and Tablea Lava Cake.

Through these festivities and more, including a celebratory Taiko drum performance, customers will be able to enjoy a redefined shopping experience at the re-opening of UNIQLO Mall of Asia.
