MANILA, Philippines—The second act of the Triple Threats concert series will be performed on November 18, 2022 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Ignacio (CCP Black Box Theater) by young tenor Arman Ferrer, who is recognized as one of the most outstanding musical theater performers of his time.

In the aforementioned concert series, which will also feature luminaries from the Philippine Musical Theater, Ferrer is one of three tenors who will perform.

He applied for the lead role of Tenyong in the zarzuela Walang Sugat at the Ateneo in 2010 at the age of 21, with no prior acting training. Following that, he had to go to acting lessons.

In the Carlitos Siguion Reyna-directed Tanghalang Pilipino production of Walang Sugat at the CCP, he reprised his role as Tenyong. After that, he performed in several productions, including The Best of Opera at Resorts World Manila, A Christmas Carol for 9Works, Mabining Mandirigma at CCP, and two original musicals for Director Joel Lamangan, Maynila: Sa Mga Kuko sa Liwanag and Binondo: A Tsinoy Musical, for which he won massive praise.

He was cast in the title role of the musical Lapu Lapu in 2021, which was the first production to be staged at the newly renovated Metropolitan Theater (MET), under the direction of Dexter Santos. Arman has won an Aliw Award as Best Crossover Artist and an Awit Award for Best Christmas Song by National Artist Ryan Cayabyab.

Each event in the Triple Threats Series is a small-scale evening of magnificent music chosen by the artists from their extensive collection of all-time favorite Broadway, West End, and original Filipino musicals and flicks.

This series of “concept concerts” is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the audience to experience a different aspect of the great theatrical performer portrayed, with the song selections defining the narrative of the event. A “triple threat” is someone who excels in a certain sector and has the three necessary talents: acting, singing, and dancing.

Markki Stroem, who gave a performance on October 14, and Poppert Bernadas, who will give a performance on December 21, 2022, are two further tenors in the series.
