Young, talented performer, Darren Espanto recently released a new single that poignantly captures the human experience with “Sasagipin Kita“. Released under MCA Music Inc., (Universal Music Group-Philippines), the ballad scored a hit to fan acclaim.
The much-anticipated single draws differently from the 18-year-old singer’s previous releases giving so much emotions in this new track. On it, Espanto asks, “Paano ba? Kaya pa ba?”. A question very familiar to everyone feeling troubled. The ballad hits differently with its melancholic tone and heartfelt lines, driving off with a piano and builds up with a full-band.
Prior to this release, the young The Voice Philippines graduate made an appearance at ABS-CBN show, Tonight with Boy Abunda (TWBA), where he debuted the sample of the single that then landed on top spots on Twitter, building up the excitement among fans for the actual release of the song at the tail-end of 2019.
Upon release, this new single trended on Twitter with the hashtag #DarrenSasagipinKita four hours before its highly-anticipated release. Continuing its success, “Sasagipin Kita” then hit the iTunes Philippine Chart at number one.
Following the success of the release of the single, the young balladeer unveiled an insightful extended version of the video. “Sasagipin Kita (Stories)” is a 12-minute video that tackles a true to life experience of three individuals that went through various life challenges, facing depression, suicide attempts and battle with cancer.
Each of the subjects shared their experiences and how they have coped with every stage of their own life battles. With these valuable stories, backdropped by the song depicting a story of strength and hope.
Apart from the success of this latest offering, Espanto has also revealed in an with the revealed his upcoming lineup of projects, including his coming participation in the ASEAN Korean Culture Innovation Summit – Growing with Art theme song together with other ASEAN artists.
The project was hosted by the South Korea Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the growth of cultural relations between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea, via the historic first, “Side by Side”.

The official music video was broadcasted on KBS (Korea Broadcast System) last November 24 and premiered last November 25 on the event proper held at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center, South Korea.
