GLOBAL RELEASE — Multi-platinum and award-winning artist, producer, musician and songwriter Charlie Puth releases his latest single “Beat Yourself Up,” off his highly anticipated forthcoming studio album “Whatever’s Clever!”, set to come this March 27.

“‘Beat Yourself Up’ started as something I wanted to tell a friend.” Puth shares in a press statement on writing “Beat Yourself Up” and its inspiration.

He continues, “We’ve never been the heart-to-heart types, so I wrote it in a song instead. I wanted to tell him that even though he has made mistakes along the way, he shouldn’t be so hard on himself. That things will get better and he’s not alone. While writing it, I soon realized this wasn’t just for my friend but myself and so many others who can be hard on themselves. It’s a message to keep going and be kinder to yourself.”

Co-produced by Puth himself and BLOODPOP, “Beat Yourself Up” continues to set the scene for what is described as his “most personal and explorative era yet”.

This highly anticipated fourth studio album serves as the Grammy-nominated and American Music Awards-winning singer-songwriter’s follow-up to his 2022 release “CHARLIE”, which featured platinum-certified hit single “Light Switch” and “Left and Right” featuring Jung Kook of K-Pop powerhouse BTS.

As of this release, the 34-year-old multi-talented musician has already put pre-sale up for his upcoming album on his official web store, which includes signed CDs, vinyl records, LPs, and other official merchandise.

Accompanied by an official performance video directed by Hunter Moreno, Puth took to his TikTok account to express undeniable excitement for fans to see him “in his purest form”.

He writes, “This track captures the essence of my experiences and emotions, offering a glimpse into my journey as a musician. The song has a deep personal significance and I am thrilled to take it on tour, sharing it with all of you.”

He then proceeds to call this a track he cannot wait to “play on tour”. He continues, “As I prepare to perform this piece live, I believe it resonates with many, highlighting the struggles and triumphs we face. ‘Beat Yourself Up’ isn’t just a title; it represents the challenges we navigate daily and the strength we find in expressing ourselves through music. ”
