Manila, Philippines — South Korean superstar, and now, international heartthrob Hyun Bin is officially the latest endorser of Filipino telco brand Smart Communications. In a video advertisement released today, the 37-year-old actor showed off connections made easy with the amplified services from the telecommunications company.
Earlier this week, the Internet was swept with teasers of the actor landing on Smart as its latest brand ambassador, as confirmed by the company’s CEO himself, Manny Pangilinan. In a video prior to the ad premiere (which was launched earlier than expected due to unexpected online leaks), the Crash Landing On You (CLOY) star expressed excitement on this new connection to Filipino fans.

He said, “Hello, Philippines! I am Hyun Bin. I am glad to be part of the Smart family. I am going to show you my best in my new campaign with Smart. So, please keep an eye on me and Smart. Mahal ko kayo, Smartees.”
In a statement, Smart Communications Inc. Senior Vice President and Head of Wireless Consumer Business Jane Jimenez Basas shared about bringing Hyun Bin to the Smart family, “We believe Hyun Bin and our partnership with him embodies our brand value, which is to be part of the pursuit of their passions and Filipinos are certainly passionate and crazy about K-Dramas and Captain Ri. This is just the start of our renewed commitment to give our subscribers more amazing experiences so watch out for more.”
Apart from the appearances meant to excite fans via his photo and video shoots, Filipino fans, as is expected, are more than hopeful to see the K-drama icon in the Philippines, which was of course a matter of global health safety.
