LOEWE Bares Actress Taylor Russell as New Global Brand Ambassador

GLOBAL NEWS—Following her upcoming role as Maren in Luca Guadagnino’s Bones and All, starring Timothée Chalamet and Mark Rylance, actress Taylor Russell has been selected as the new Global Ambassador for the Spanish luxury brand LOEWE.

Jonathan Anderson, creative director, says, “I first met Taylor through a very dear friend of ours, Luca Guadagnino. I’ve never been so inspired by someone—it was the start of a very special friendship. I’m so proud that she agreed to open the SS23 show, and excited to have her join the LOEWE family.“

Russell gained the most prominence for her role in Trey Edward Shults’ 2019 A24 film Waves. In the category of Best Breakthrough Actor, Russell won a Gotham Award for her work in the movie.

Additionally, Russel bagged the Virtuosos Award at the 2020 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, was nominated for a 2020 Film Independent Spirit Award, and was named one of Time magazine’s Best Movie Performances of 2019.

With the short film The Heart Still Hums, which she co-directed, Russell made her directorial debut after working as a producer behind the camera. Five women are followed throughout the 29-minute film as they struggle to protect their children while overcoming drug addiction, homelessness, and the pain of parental neglect.

The film received the Best Documentary Short prize after making its debut at the 2020 Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. The ‘Searchlight Shorts’ division of Searchlight Pictures quickly purchased the short.
