Taking content creation to a whole new level, OPPO widens the realm of smartphone videography by pushing for artistic pursuits beyond everyday vlogs through the .giff Festival of New Cinema in collaboration with telecommunications giant, Globe.
Pushing for Provocations of Form
The .giff Festival is a film fest of new cinema that celebrates the unending possibilities of the audio-visual experience. It’s an art fair for video art projections and independent short films, plus a series of enlightening talks by established film and video practitioners from around the world—with an electronic music festival, too.
The theme of the festival is to break boundaries through elevating the way we see images and exploring contemporary ways how to narrate stories. A wide array of video art projections and independent short films, together with an electronic music festival, is an effort to emerge the viewers response to the evolving sentiment on the Festival of New Cinema.
Vertical Cinema Filmmaking: Creating art with your smartphone
There are multiple sections present in the festival, and one of the more notable ones that reflect the innovation behind contemporary content creation via smartphones is vcinema.giff. This is a creative collaboration that was crafted to truly bring out the storymaker in anyone. The vertical short film competition aims to show that quality films can be shot even with an everyday quality smartphone like that of the OPPO Reno2.
